Forfar photographer Anne Johnston is exhibiting her landscape photographer at Whitehills Art Gallery

I am so pleased to announce I am exhibiting in the Art Gallery at Whitehills Health & Community Care Centre in Forfar from 5th December 2017 until 2nd February 2018. The ethos behind the Community Care Centre is to provide a Centre for various aspects of health and social well-being. Art can contribute to a healing environment and 20% commission from the sale of my artwork goes directly back to the Arts and Environment Fund for Whitehills, allowing them to continually improve their surroundings. I’m really inspired by the beauty that is all around us right here in Angus. In … Read More

Charity event photography

I get inundated with requests to photograph charity events for free in Forfar, Arbroath, Dundee and beyond and as much as I would love to support all of you with my time, I can’t. But there is another way. Let’s get to the bottom of it. I donate money to charities that are close to my heart (literally) for personal reasons. I support British Heart Foundation because I had life-saving heart surgery as a baby and Cancer Research UK because I’ve watched my Mum fight her way back from the brink of death and I want to do what I … Read More

Marcus Sheridan CMA Live 2017

CMA Live is the UK’s leading content marketing event run by the Content Marketing Academy. Held in Edinburgh it’s a 2-day event attracting world-wide speakers at the top of their game. But is it worth all the hype? Read on for my review of my first CMA Live experience.   My journey to CMA Live 2017   I’d only just heard of the concept of content marketing and the Content Marketing Academy in early 2016. blogging

Earlier this year the Content Marketing Academy set its members a 90 day challenge to help us improve our businesses through content marketing. We’d set our own objectives, commit to the process for 90 days, support each other along the way and hopefully come out the other end relatively unscathed. Did I ace it or do I need to go suck eggs? Let’s jump in and find out. Here’s the questions the CMA asked us to answer to review our progress. I set myself a target of producing one wedding related blog a week to get me into the habit … Read More

Feeling the fear and doing it anyway: how I overcame my fear of public speaking

Feeling the fear

It’s the morning after the night before, I’m riding the waves of a high after a successful speaking gig, feeling totally stoked and reflecting on just how much things have changed. You see, even a few years ago there’s no way I would have stood up and delivered a speech in a room full of people. I would rather have poked myself in the eye with a stick. But today, I’m feeling good and know that I’ve turned a corner. Related content: I started out in life as a glum baby, the one that horrified anyone that dared to look … Read More

photography website Anne Johnston

A new home for Anne Johnston Photography   Just over a month ago I embarked on a mission to create a brand new website and when I say “mission” I don’t say that lightly! Here’s the thing… I’m a bit of a geek and completely unashamed of it, I love to keep up-to-date with technology and while most people would hand over the design of their site to a team of expert web designers and builders, I’m all for getting stuck in to see what I’m capable of. So here we are! Hello!   Why the change?   I’m … Read More
