Lightroom for Beginners

Do you know that you could be getting more out of your photos but you just don’t know where to start? Or perhaps you can never find your photos and you’re looking for a magic wand that will make your photos super easy to find and can make them look great too?

Imagine a nifty piece of software that will give your photos easy to remember names instead of a whole load of numbers as it transfers your photos from your memory card to your computer… it lets you play around with your images to your heart’s content and if you decide you don’t like what you’ve done to a photo you can roll it back to any point at the click of a button. Better still, sometimes you need your images to be a certain size for social media, another time you need your photos to be a particular size for print. You don’t want to have to remember what the settings are every time and the beauty is you don’t have to! You only have to tell it what to do once. Oh, that’s clever!

But it doesn’t stop there. You’re quite protective of your photos. When you put them on your website you want the whole world to know that you took them so you want your name added to them? That’s called a watermark. Can you see where I’m going with this? It can do that too!

If you don’t know what I’m talking about already, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC, or Lightroom for short, is a complete workflow system for photographers which allows you to organise, edit, find and prepare your photos for printing easily. It makes my whole post-processing workflow simple and it’s what I use both professionally and personally.

Many photographers choose to use Photoshop to edit their photos but I and many other professional photographers use Lightroom as it does everything I need all in one programme.

If you live in Angus, Dundee or Perth Lightroom for Beginners is an ideal follow-on to my Photography for Beginners course or if you already know what you’re doing with your camera and want to learn an easy way to edit and organise your photos. In this half-day course you’ll learn everything you need to know to take your photos off your camera and get the best out of them in the comfort of your own home.

  • “I found Anne’s tuition very easy to follow, giving me plenty time to take in and carry out the various tasks we covered. I would have no problem recommending the course to all who would like to enhance their photographic skills”

  • “I have had the pleasure of going through Anne’s Photography for Beginners and Lightroom for Beginners courses. Both courses were excellent. Anne is a very friendly person who made the whole learning experience enjoyable. She explained things well and answered all of the questions I had. The Lightroom course was great and she thoroughly explained the whole editing process from importing to exporting photographs and all the different tools used in the development process to give my photos more of a wow factor. I am loving playing around with it. I would recommend Anne to anyone who needs help with photography or editing”
