Real Weddings at Forbes of Kingennie: Gemma and Kevin’s waterside wedding
Gemma and Kevin chose the stunning location of Forbes of Kingennie Country Resort for their beautiful, intimate wedding ceremony in April 2016 and were joined by more family and friends to party with them at night. When I first met them they told me that they wanted only a few posed photos and that it was important to them to have their day photographed naturally. I knew we’d work perfectly together.

The big day
Waking up on the day there was snow on the ground and it really was a day of all seasons. Gemma was a little worried but thankfully the snow soon cleared.
When I arrived at Gemma’s parents’ house the hair and makeup were in full swing and she was enjoying the morning with her friends and a wee glass of bubbly. Kevin was already at the venue so after taking a few photos of the girls I went through to Forbes of Kingennie to meet Kevin and wait for his beautiful bride to arrive.
Gemma and Kevin exchanged vows in a touching ceremony by Humanist Celebrant Brenda Reid. The ceremony included the tying of the knot which Brenda made sure matched Gemma’s dress.
Gemma, Kevin and I left their wedding guests to some lovely canapes and drinks and we went over to use the gorgeous Leannan Boathouse for a few natural photos. Such a stunning spot looking over the pond.
They then joined their guests for the speeches. There was a lot of tears of laughter in the room, especially with Kevin’s best man’s speech.
I left the wedding party to enjoy their meal and then just like magic, before the evening guests arrived, the rain disappeared and I suggested we should go outside to make the most of the gorgeous evening light. How lovely for a wee rainbow to appear right at that very moment!
Once their evening guests arrived they all partied the night away with wedding band Franco.
