Speeches and laughter at Forbes of Kingennie

You’ve met the man of your dreams, you’ve set your wedding date and are in full on planning mode but you’re struggling to find the perfect photographer. I know the thought of posing in front of a camera fills you with dread, you hate having your photos taken and you don’t want to be away from your guests for hours on end.

I know what you really want is to have a stunning high quality wedding album with all the feels. You want to have a few photos with your new husband to cherish that you’d be proud to put on your living room walls minus the cheesy poses and forced smiles. You want to look at your album with tears of joy as you remember all the emotions of your day. You want to see all the tiny details that you agonised over and you want to remember all your guests having fun with you.

I love to work with couples in Angus, Dundee and Perth just like you. Telling stories naturally with photos is my speciality. If we sound like a great fit get in touch and let’s have a chat about your wedding plans over a cuppy and cake. I can’t wait to hear all about it.

Kind words from my happy couples

Wedding couple at Glen Clova Hotel

“I have known Anne for many years and seen a lot of her work. When Chris and I decided to get married she was our first and only choice for photographing our wedding. We were lucky too that Anne was free on our Valentine’s Day Wedding this year. Anne captured our day to absolute perfection, we were delighted with the natural photos which truly captured the essence of our wonderful day, the beauty, the romance and the many laughs between a small group of special friends. Very professional package, Anne is a lovely person and will always be highly recommended by us.”

“We found working with Anne so easy going. I don’t particularly like being photographed but Anne helped with that so much. We really did feel at ease the whole time. We love looking back at our wedding photos, especially the natural shots she managed to get when we didn’t even notice the camera. If you’re looking for a photographer that will listen to you and will go out of their way to get the perfect picture then Anne is definitely for you!”

“We couldn’t have wished for a better service. Anne put our minds at ease so that was one less thing we had to worry about. On the day she felt more like one of the guests, she fitted in so well. She knew it was our special day and having her as our photographer only added to our day. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a fantastic photographer.”

“Anne is just a delight to work with. From the moment of our first enquiry right through to the weeks after the wedding she was lovely to deal with, extremely professional, flexible and really went the extra mile to get to know us as a couple and family and understand what we were trying to achieve with capturing the mood of our wedding. The final results speak for themselves, the pictures are absolutely wonderful and really capture the whole essence of our day. We absolutely would not hesitate to recommend Anne to any couple getting married and we were delighted with our choice of photographer”

Frequently asked questions

Of course you can!

There are testimonials further up this page in the “kind words from my happy couples” section.

Some of my couples have also given me permission to be featured in the Real Weddings series of my blog. Check out their stories and see more photos here

Most couples after booking their wedding venue will book their wedding photographer next.

I usually take bookings 1 – 2 years in advance but if your wedding is sooner than that please ask as I might have your date available

For sure! It’s so important to know that we’re the right fit for each other. I’m going to be at your wedding all day and you want to make sure that we gel.

Before you book we’ll meet up for a cuppy and cake and have a wee chat about your wedding plans. I’ll also show you my sample wedding albums so you can imagine what your final album will look like. The cuppies and cakes are on me….. unless you live far away and we do a Skype call instead. I can’t teleport cake, sorry!

I’d plan on meeting up with you again before the wedding so we can go over the running of your day and you can let me in on any secrets. If you have a surprise relative flying in from Australia it’s great for me to know when to photograph your guests’ reactions

Wedding albums are included in Collections 2 and 3 and I have samples available to show you.

The Bellissimo Fine Art wedding album included in Collection 3 is simply stunning. With fine art cotton paper and a lay-flat page design it exudes style and sophistication. Collection 3 also includes two mini duplicate albums

To book me to photograph your wedding you will need to pay a booking fee of £250 and complete a signed contract to secure your date. I’ll email you an invoice and you can by by PayPal, credit/debit card or bank transfer.

The balance for your wedding photography package is due to be paid 2 weeks before your wedding and I’ll email you an invoice a month before it’s due to be paid.

If you decide to buy additional products such as wall-art, these items are available to buy via your private online gallery and are payable at the time of ordering

I’m based in Forfar in the beautiful county of Angus in North East Scotland.

I mostly photography weddings in Angus, Dundee and Perth but if you’re planning your big day further afield then I’d love to hear from you. Travel and accommodation expenses may apply for weddings outside of Angus, Dundee and Perth.

I don’t currently offer wedding photography services further than Scotland

If you’re getting married during the months October – March I may be able to offer you a half-day wedding photography package with up to 4 hours photography. Please ask if this is something you’re interested in
An engagement or pre-wedding photo shoot is the perfect way for you to see what it’s like being in front of the camera before your wedding, whether you got engaged recently or months ago.

We can do this in your favourite park or at your favourite beach. If there’s a special place for both of you, let’s go there! You’ll find it’s not as scary as you imagined and is a wee taster of what it will be like on your wedding day.

A pre-wedding or engagement photoshoot is included as standard in Collection 3. If you’re not sure whether or not to hire me for your wedding, you can book an engagement session for £249 and if you then choose Collection 3 I’ll deduct £249 from the cost of that package

My wedding photography packages include up to 8 hours coverage. This usually allows me to capture the essence of your day from the bride getting ready up until around the 3rd dance.

Once you know the timings of your day including your ceremony, meal and your band starting we can have a chat about when you’d like me to start

I’ve photographed many weddings in dark venues such as churches. It doesn’t matter to me if your venue is dark. I have professional cameras and lenses and the experience to deal with it. Please don’t worry about this
I don’t use Photoshop but use a similar version also used by many other professional photographers called Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC.

If you wake up with a dreaded spot on your face on the day of your wedding then rest assured I will take care of it for you (married couple only) and I have tools that I use to remove any stray hairs at my discretion where I feel it’s appropriate.

Please note that I don’t offer a full retouching service so if there’s someone not able to be at your wedding and you want them added in later then that’s not something that I will do

If you’re looking for more traditional, formal wedding photography then I’m afraid we’re not the right fit.

My style of photography is very relaxed and informal so you can enjoy your day and have all your favourite people photographed naturally.

I don’t work from a set list but completely appreciate that you might like a couple of group shots and that’s ok

Hey, it’s your big day and I don’t want you missing out on your big party any more than you do.

We’ll be away from your guests for no more than half an hour so we can get some fab photos of the two of you. I promise I won’t make you do anything you don’t feel comfortable with and there won’t be any cheesy poses

If it’s raining when it’s time for us to do some photos of the two of you, I’ll always have a back-up plan where we can do photos indoors.

If the weather brightens up later we can nip out for 15 minutes then. I’ve developed a strange sense for rainbows too which makes interesting photos

No-one likes photos being taken while they have a mouth full of food so I usually leave you to it after the speeches and join you again after your meal.

This is where I’ll take the chance to have something to eat too. I’m quite happy to eat in a quiet corner in the bar. Some super awesome clients like to pay for my meal and that’s really appreciated but I never ask or insist on it

I’ll send you a link to your private online gallery no later than 6 weeks after your wedding. In most cases it will be much quicker than that but I say 6 weeks in case I have a holiday planned after your wedding. If you’d like your friends and family to see the photos too all you have to do is share the link and password with them.

I’ll then ask you to pick the colours and design of your beautiful personalised USB and presentation case (no mass-produced generic stuff here!) and that will be with you within a week.

If your package includes a wedding album I’ll ask you to pick out a number of must-have photos, design an album for you and once you say yes to the design it’s usually ready within 3 weeks

I typically take around 1200 – 1500 photos for a full day wedding and the pick out the best ones to work my editing magic on. You’ll get at least 300 photos in your private online gallery and they’ll be the exact same photos that I give you on your beautiful personalised USB
Absolutely, yes.

Copyright can often be misunderstood but in simple terms I own the photos and give you a license to print, copy and share them however you like.

The only restriction I have on your photos is that I don’t allow you to use them for commercial purposes. What this means is that you can’t sell them or use the photos to sell any products or services.

Check out this blog I’ve written that explains copyright in more detail: Am I allowed to print and share my wedding photos? Everything you need to know about wedding photography copyright and licences

On your USB I’ll give you two copies of your photos. One of the copies will be small files that are perfect for sharing with your friends on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. The other set will be large high-resolution files which you can use for printing

Yes. When your photos are ready, I’ll send you a link and password to your private online gallery.

Your wedding guests and friends will be able to buy prints and wall art too from an award-winning professional photography supplier based right here in Scotland.

All you have to do is share the link and password with your friends

Yes, I keep your photos backed-up securely.

I recommend that you also make a back-up of the photos that I give you either stored in another location or on a cloud-based service eg the iCloud or Google Photos. I can provide you with another personalised USB stick for an additional fee

Yes, my photography equipment is insured and I also have public liability and professional indemnity insurance all provided by InFocus Photography Insurance
In all the years I’ve been photographing weddings, I haven’t missed one yet.

If I ever take ill last minute I’m a Registered Member of the Guild of Photographers and know lots of wedding photographers locally that will step in and come to your rescue
